This factsheet outlines the impact of the US funding cuts on Frontline AIDS partners around the world, including case studies from our partners in Cambodia and Zimbabwe. There’s also a joint call to action from the Frontline AIDS partnership for a new era of leadership and collaboration.
Around half of Frontline AIDS’ partners (27 out of 60 organisations) have had to discontinue lifesaving work because of the US foreign aid cuts, putting 1.6 million people at risk. Services which have been affected include treatment for HIV and TB, as well as specialised programs for key populations, adolescent girls and young women, orphans and vulnerable children, as well as survivors of gender-based violence. Human rights and advocacy work appear to have been hit particularly hard, alongside HIV prevention and harm reduction services.
