Tackling gender-based violence among women who use drugs in India
Results and lessons from the WINGS project.
Although women account for a third of all people who use drugs, harm reduction services are often gender-blind or male-focused. In the WINGS (Women Initiating New Goals for Safety) project, Alliance India provided tailored and holistic services to women who use drugs to reduce gender-based violence and the risk of contracting HIV. This publication presents the WINGS model and how it was implemented in India, the results of the project, and lessons learned about how to address gender-based violence among women who use drugs.
