ICWEA, a partner in the Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV response programme, led a campaign around HIV drug Dolutegravir (DTG) that shows the power and potential of community advocacy. After the Ugandan Ministry of Health changed its HIV guidelines restricting the drug’s use for women of reproductive age, ICWEA helped women raise their voices and assert their right to make informed choices about the treatment and care they receive.
