New strategic priorities set path to end AIDS

Frontline AIDS new strategy, launched on 16 March, sets out three strategic priorities to achieve its goal to build a world free from AIDS for everyone, everywhere.

The world is facing a new AIDS emergency with funding cuts, rights under attack and conflicts pushing health systems to breaking point. Our new strategy sets out how we will respond to these challenges through the power of our global partnership.

Frontline AIDS will focus on three strategic priorities to achieve its goal to build a future free from AIDS.

We will:

  • Strengthen health systems by working collaboratively to secure sustainably financed, resilient and inclusive HIV and health services
  • Champion human rights and gender and racial justice to counter anti-rights mobilisation and shift hostile narratives and
  • Build resilience to crises by brokering partnerships and sharing and scaling up community-led approaches that keep delivering in times of need.

We know breakthrough HIV treatments and prevention tools could transform and end the epidemic. Guided by anti-racist, feminist and decolonial principles, we will shift power to centre local knowledge and community leadership.

Frontline AIDS is a platform for civil society organisations to lead, learn and act together. With more than 30 years’ experience, we bring together over 50 partners working across 100 countries.

“It provides the institutional strengthening that enables partners to grow and thrive, and aligns resourcing to keep the work moving towards ending AIDS,” Toyin Chukwudozie added.

We champion community-led approaches for the most marginalised people and reshape the HIV response in ways that are locally driven, scalable and future-focused.

“Frontline AIDS new strategic priorities are critical for us achieving our goal to end AIDS”, says John Plastow, Executive Director at Frontline AIDS.

While our strategy is new, it is rooted in our 30-year history of experience, partnership and innovation. We are ready to work hard with our partners to achieve our goal to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.”John Plastow, Executive Director, Frontline AIDS
