Frontline AIDS Executive Director moving to leadership position at UNAIDS

Christine Stegling, the Executive Director of Frontline AIDS, has been appointed to the position of Deputy Executive Director, Policy, Advocacy and Knowledge in the Joint Programme of the United Nations on HIV, UNAIDS.

We are pleased to announce that Christine Stegling, the Executive Director of Frontline AIDS, has been appointed to the position of Deputy Executive Director, Policy, Advocacy and Knowledge in the Joint Programme of the United Nations on HIV, UNAIDS.

Christine joined the then International HIV/AIDS Alliance as Executive Director in January 2016, leading the organisation through a strategic rebrand to become Frontline AIDS, and overseeing the development of our Global Plan of Action and of a new partnership model that sees our partners driving and leading our local, national and global action on HIV, health and human rights.

Our Chair of the International Board of Trustees, Professor Nana Poku, says:

The board of trustees is delighted with Christine’s appointment, and we want to thank her for her contribution to shaping Frontline AIDS and ensuring that it remains a substantial part of the global AIDS response. The board is outlining next steps to plan for Christine’s transition and for the appointment of her successor. We are confident that we have a strong team and committed partners in place who will support the board in this leadership transition.

UNAIDS is a vital partner in Frontline AIDS’ work, as both institutions share a mission to tackle the inequalities that drive HIV and AIDS. The Frontline AIDS leadership and board members are confident that Christine’s expertise and skills will continue to make a real difference to achieving our joint goal to create a future free from AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
