AIDS 2022: Strengthening health systems

This High-Level Political Session is calling for a unified response to HIV, cervical cancer and female genital schistosomiasis (FGS), fundamental to the health and well-being of women and girls, in all their diversity. African girls and women currently bear a disproportionate global disease burden, facing multiple and intersecting health, social, cultural and economic challenges. In recognition of this, the global health community is putting its weight behind a shared commitment to advance universal access to integrated health, SRHR and HIV services.

Dedicated to Dr Mwelecele Ntuli Malecela, Director of NTDs at the WHO – a passionate champion of women’s health and rights and at the forefront of female FGS, cervical cancer and HIV integration.
